We are excited to welcome Jessie Camp to our Trinity staff team! Jessie will be serving as our Interim Senior High Youth Minister, working alongside Deacon Kris to provide leadership, support, and care for our senior high youth and their families during this season of ministry.

As many of you know, ministry with young people is one of Trinity’s highest priorities. With retreats, Bible studies, service projects, and the daily work of walking alongside youth in faith, this is a vibrant and busy part of our congregational life. Since last January, the senior high position has been vacant, and we are deeply grateful for the excellent work Deacon Kris has done to keep things moving forward.
We have intentionally waited to launch a permanent search for this position. Youth and family ministry is one of the most important areas of Trinity’s current strategic planning initiative. We want to finish that process before beginning the search so that we are ready to call the right person into this role.
In the meantime, Jessie will step into an interim position, giving Deacon Kris the assistance needed and ensuring our high school youth continue to experience meaningful opportunities for faith formation, service, and connection. Jessie brings energy, faith, and a heart for ministry that will be a true blessing to our congregation.
Jessie grew up in St. Michael, Minnesota, and graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield. She then served for three and a half years as youth minister at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. During that time, she also began seminary coursework at Luther Seminary in St. Paul.
Jessie is a candidate for Deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Deacons are rostered ministers of Word and Service, called to follow Christ’s example of servant leadership. Their work often centers in education, administration, service, and youth and family ministry. Jessie is currently completing the final steps of the candidacy process. Once approved, she will begin seeking a permanent call within the ELCA.
While that journey unfolds, Jessie is eager to serve here at Trinity, supporting and encouraging our high school youth as they explore what it means to follow Jesus in their daily lives.
At Trinity, Jessie will help lead Wednesday night youth group, Bible studies, and special events. She will also partner with Deacon Kris and the staff team to support families and strengthen connections between youth and the wider congregation.
We are grateful to God for providing this opportunity and for Jessie’s willingness to serve among us. Interim ministry is always a season of gratitude and anticipation; thankful for the gifts someone shares for a time, and hopeful for how God will continue to use them in future ministry.
As Jessie begins, we encourage you to:
- Pray for Jessie, especially during this season of candidacy and discernment.
- Welcome Jessie warmly into our community. If you see her in worship, at youth events, or around town, please introduce yourself.
- Support our youth ministry with your encouragement, participation, and presence.
We look forward to the months ahead with Jessie on our team. Together, let us continue to live out our calling as a church family that supports, encourages, and equips one another to grow in faith and love. Please join us in giving thanks for Jessie’s ministry and holding her, our youth, and this season in prayer.
In Christ,
Pastor Todd
