Today after breakfast, our team loaded our vehicles and began the trek to Singida. It took us about 6 hours to get here.

Singida sits in the wide, open center of Tanzania, where the land feels unhurried, As we approached the city, we could see how life here is shaped by farming and herding.. Just outside of town is Lake Singida, which draws birds and people alike
Being here, especially as we spend time with our partners at Kimpangua Lutheran Church and celebrate the dedication of the Bishop Regina Girls School, feels less like a visit and more like stepping into a story that God has been writing long before we arrived.
After we arrived, we had time to settle in to our hotel and get some rest. (Why is it that just riding in a car can make you feel so tired?) The team met for dinner at the hotel restaurant, and then for devotions, where we prayed for God’s presence in the midst of our experience.
Tomorrow we will visit the office of the Central Diocese here in Singida, before we make our way to Kimpungua Lutheran Church. Finally, I’ll have the opportunity to meet Pastor Samwell and others from the congregation. I’m very excited for this opportunity.

Tomorrow, if I can, I will also try to post some video of what I see at Kimpungua.
Please continue to pray for our team!
God’s peace,
Pastor Todd
