Staff Transition at Trinity

Dear Trinity friends,

It was with sadness that I received Kate Verlautz’s resignation from her role as Director of High School Ministries at Trinity.  She has served in this role for over 12 years, which is remarkable.

Kate Verlautz

Kate will be completing her work in our congregation on January 5, 2025.

Kate explained that while she loves her work and feels deeply connected at Trinity, as her children have gotten older, balancing her role as a mother and as a youth minister has become more of a challenge.  She feels the need to step away from this position and focus more deeply on her family.  While she will be deeply missed in her role at church, I fully support her in her decision.

Her heart is still in working with young people.  Kate has accepted a new position with  Workforce Development Inc., and will be working within the high schools in Steele County, helping young people do vocational planning and finding ways to connect with employers and training programs that will benefit them throughout their life.

Kate and her family will continue to be a part of this community, and they will continue to worship at Trinity.

Kate has been a gift to Trinity Lutheran Church.  I have deeply appreciated the thoughtful and intentional way that she has gone about her ministry with our young people. She deeply cares for the young people with whom she has worked.

Kate has been a great colleague and a wonderful member of our team.  Her creativity and the depth of her faith have been a blessing to our staff.  She will be missed.

We will take time on a Sunday morning in January to celebrate Kate’s ministry and the lives she has touched.  I will let you know the details as they develop.

In the hope of Advent,

Pastor Todd
