I’m very excited to introduce our congregation to our intern pastor for the 2017-2018 school year, Madison Chelberg!
Madison is a current student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, and currently lives in Inver Grove Heights.
Originally from Rochester, Madison’s home congregation is Zumbro Lutheran Church. Following high school graduation, Madison received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota. After she graduated from the UofM, she enrolled at Luther Seminary to begin pastoral studies.
While a student at Luther, she has worked part-time at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Lino Lakes as their Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries.
This month, Madison and her husband, Max are celebrating their first anniversary of marriage.
Of her upcoming internship experience, Madison writes: “I am extremely excited. Last year I watched my good friends get endorsed, interview with internship sites, learn their placements, and begin their internships this past summer. I have always been excited to be on internship and learn more how it feels, and how it is, to hold the office of “pastor,” and now that it is on the horizon, I cannot wait!”
Trinity’s ministry of being an internship site is a gift both to our congregation and to the broader church. An internship really helps to shape a person’s pastoral identity. And the energy and enthusiasm that our interns bring to Trinity keep us moving and growing as a congregation.
We too are excited to be working with Madison next year. We anticipate an August start date for her at Trinity. We will let you know more details as soon as they are determined.
God’s peace,
Pastor Todd
