I believe that local congregations, like Trinity, strengthened by God’s Holy Spirit, are the hope of the world. And the difference between congregations that can really make a difference in their communities and those that cannot, is good leadership.
This month, Trinity launches its “Leadership Series: Building Capacity, Courage and Community.” Our goal is to develop and strengthen leadership for the sake of the congregation and the community. The first event in our Leadership Series will take place on Saturday morning, January 12th. A light breakfast will be served beginning at 8am and the program will begin at 8:30am and will conclude at 10:30am.
This Leadership Series is an important part of Trinity’s 5-year strategic plan. We know that Trinity already has strong leaders in our council, our commissions and all of our ministries, and that many of our people serve in leadership roles throughout our community. Our Leadership Series will both strengthen those who currently serve in a leadership role and will identify new leaders to ensure a strong future for our congregation.
The Leadership Series is for anyone in our congregation or community that finds themselves in leadership role or is interested in growing in their own leadership. You do not have to be a Trinity member to participate.

Following breakfast, we will learn from and discuss a video by Pastor Craig Groeschel. The topic is: “Becoming a Leader People Love to Follow.” Then after a short break, we will be led in putting the ideas he discusses into our local context by Pastor Cindy Halvorson, from First Baptist Church in Owatonna. It will be a morning of great information and inspiration.

This initiative will make us all better leaders, so that wherever we lead, whether it’s in community organizations, parent groups, booster clubs, work places, and on basketball courts and athletic fields throughout our community. And we know that when we lead well, organizations and congregations flourish.
There is no cost to participate in our morning of learning, and childcare will be available in our nursery. There is no cost, though participants are welcome to make a free-will offering to help offset the cost of breakfast if they choose. More information on Trinity’s Leadership Series can be found at tlcowatonna.org/leadership.
Please come, and grow in your leadership, to strengthen our church and our community!
Peace,
Pastor Todd
