Mary said, “The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.”
Luke 1:49
It is one thing to name God in our lives. It is another to describe…to turn that into a story. That is what Mary does in this text. Mary acknowledges the greatness of God, calling God “The Mighty One.” And then she says how God has done great things for her.
It is one thing for us to be able to “name God,” to acknowledge that God is God. But can we tell a story about what God has been up to in our lives? Have we looked? Have we seen? Because God is at work…that is promised. But have we seen?
Gracious God, give us eyes to see you today in the world…and in the people around us. And help us to tell the story of how your great love has touched our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
