This congregation has deep roots. We have been shaped by generations of faithful people who gave their time, their talents, and their hearts to build something that has genuinely mattered to each other and to this community.
That is not nothing. That is a gift. But a gift like that comes with a responsibility: to tend it, to invest in it, and to pass it on stronger than we received it.
That’s exactly why Trinity, along with our frends at New Life Community are bringing the Global Leadership Summit to Owatonna this August 6 and 7.

The Summit is a two-day leadership development experience that draws together people from every walk of life: teachers, business owners, nonprofit workers, commuinty leaders, elected officials, parents, volunteers, and pastors. We all gather around a single conviction: that leadership is not a title, it’s a calling. And that when leaders grow, the people around them flourish.
The event is hosted in person in Chicago. However there are over 150 satellite sites all over the country where the event will be simulcast, including right here in Owatonna, at New Life Community.
As Lutherans, we’ve always believed in this idea. We call it vocation. God doesn’t just call pastors and deacons. God calls every one of us to serve the world through the particular place we occupy in it. The parent leading a household. The manager shaping a workplace. The volunteer who shows up week after week because they believe this church, or the foodshelf, or the classroom can be something more. Every one of you is already leading. The question is whether we can help support you, so you can do it well.
I want us to be a congregation that takes that question seriously, not just for our own sake, but for the sake of this community. The neighborhood around us needs leaders who are grounded, thoughtful, and resilient. Our congregation needs people who are equipped to step into new roles, carry new responsibilities, and imagine new possibilities. The Global Leadership Summit is one of the best tools I’ve found to help us do exactly that.

So here’s my invitation: come with us. Whether you’ve been here forty years or four months, whether you hold an official role or simply show up and give your best, this is for you.
You can find registration details here. There is a cost to participating, and we believe it’s well worth it. If cost is a barrier for you, please talk to me. We want that to be the last reason you don’t come. If you have questions about the Summit, I encourage you to reach out to me . I’d love to talk with you personally about whether this is a good fit for you.
We have roots. Now let’s grow.
In Christ,
Pastor Todd
