On the surface, Trinity Lutheran Church is many different things:
- It is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
- It is a community of believers (over 4,000), called together to grow disciples of Jesus Christ
- It is worship, faith formation for all ages, fellowship and service
These are all accurate descriptions of our congregation. However, they only begin to scratch the surface of who God has called Trinity Lutheran Church to be. There are eight phrases that we believe describe our identity as a congregation. We believe that Trinity is a congregation of:
- Biblical depth
- Gracious hospitality
- Deep relationships
- Service to others
- Leadership development
- That shares God’s love
- That cares for each other
- That has a culture of generosity
“In the last days it will be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.”
– Acts 2:17
This weekend, we will begin an 8-week sermon series that explores these important parts of our identity. We believe that God is calling us as a community to dig deeper into each of these areas, and I believe that it’s critical that we keep these things in front of us.
So for the next 8 weeks, join us as we take a look at our identity as people of God. Join the conversation!
God bless!
