A Love We Cannot Measure

There are some things we cannot understand or describe. God’s love is one of them. There are no words adequate to describe God’s infinite capacity to love.

Humans often try to define, or even to limit who is worthy of God’s love based on our own criteria or understandings. But the scriptures tell us a different story. In the Gospel of John, Jesus speaks of other sheep not of this fold, indicating that His love and salvation are not confined to those we might expect.

This expansive view of God’s embrace should challenge and inspire us. It calls us to love not just in words but in deeds and truth, reaching out to all, regardless of their background, beliefs, identity or life choices. We are to mirror the inclusive and unconditional love that Jesus showed, a love that seeks out the lost and welcomes the outsider, regardless of who they are.

God calls us to live out our faith through actions that speak of God’s boundless grace. May we be instruments of God’s peace and love, breaking down barriers and building bridges in God’s name. Remember, we are all God’s children, and in God’s eyes, no one is beyond the reach of His love and salvation.

Amen.
